At The Pathways to Change, our CBT/DBT services are designed for children, teens, and young adults who are struggling with big feelings, worry, or stuck patterns that keep showing up at home, school, or with friends. Therapy is practical and collaborative – we don’t just talk about problems, we work together on concrete skills your child can use in everyday life.
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) helps children and teens understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and actions. Together we learn to notice unhelpful thinking patterns, gently question them, and practice new ways of coping so anxiety, low mood, and anger feel more manageable.
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) is especially helpful for youth who experience intense emotions, impulsive behaviors, or frequent conflict. DBT focuses on four core skill areas: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and healthy communication. Sessions include coaching, practice, and take-home tools so skills don’t stay in the therapy room – they show up where they matter most.
Parents and caregivers are included in the process, with guidance on how to support new skills at home in a way that fits your family’s values and culture. Our goal is to help your child feel safer inside their own mind and body, and to give your family a clear, compassionate pathway forward.
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) are practical, skills-based approaches. Sessions focus on helping you notice patterns, build new coping tools, and practice them in real life — at home, at school, and in relationships.
